TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I have known Jeremy Horwell since 1997 in both a professional and social environment.

A more professional person who dedicates himself with such quiet pride to his work, I have never met. His attention to detail is unfailing and his patience, often under intolerable pressures, is unmatched. His ability to apply his numerous skills to everything from creating astonishing floral displays in the Dining Room, filling in for the chef, managing a complex wine cellar, welcoming guests who may range from a Cabinet Minister to a visiting supplier, can only be envied. When not running the Hall he will quite happily tackle the not inconsiderable task of driving to London and tackling central London traffic for several days at a time in the role of professional chauffeur.

As a Course Tutor in a chauffeur training school that I run, I refer to Jeremy as a figurehead whom all chauffeurs should match in terms of crisp appearance, good temperament, patience and professionalism and for this reason they should liken themselves to butlers on wheels. Few can attain these standards.

Over the years, Jeremy has, through his complete dedication to his work, in fact designed for himself a job specification that far exceeds the normal expectation of his position, thereby rendering his position virtually impossible to replace.
